PSG ‘ready to splash £80m on Ajax star Matthijs de Ligt’ in bid to beat Barcelona to his signature… AND will offer defender £13.5m-a-season deal!

Paris Saint-Germain have set aside £80million to spend on Ajax’s highly-rated young defender Matthijs de Ligt this summer.
De Ligt is one of the most hottest commodities in Europe with a host of elite level clubs chasing his signature, including Barcelona, who remain favourites to land the youngster.
The 19-year-old attracted a lot of attention after sensationally leading Ajax to the Eredivisie title and Champions League semi-final last term – and he has also played an integral role in Holland’s run to the Nations League final.
PSG are ready to pay £80m for Matthijs de Ligt and will offer him a £13.5m-a-season deal
Barcelona are reported to have already agreed terms with the defender after meeting with his representative Mino Raiola but a fee is yet to be determined.
Spanish daily newspaper Sport however claim PSG are desperate to pip Barcelona to his signing and are ready to double their salary offer to the player.
The French champions are prepared to offer him a bumper five-year contract that would see him net £13.3million per season – more than double the £6m a year offered by Barca.
It is also believed that Leonardo – the club’s former sporting director – is on the verge of returning to the club and will make De Ligt his No 1 priority this summer.
Liverpool and Manchester are also hoping to strike a deal for the impressive young defender this transfer window.
