BREAKING NEWS: Alfredo Morelos is LEFT OUT of Rangers’ squad for their decisive Champions League play-off clash with PSV Eindhoven because of ‘concerns over his fitness and attitude’

Alfredo Morelos has been left out of Rangers’ squad for their Champions League play-off second-leg against PSV Eindhoven.

Rangers boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst has made the decision following concerns over fitness levels and attitude.

The 26-year-old Colombian, who has scored 114 goals for the Scottish giants, played no part in the 2-2 draw with the Dutch giants last week and will not feature once again in the second leg.

The striker returned from a lengthy spell on the sidelines in the Gers recent 2-0 win over Kilmarnock, in which he opened his account for the season with just two minutes left to play, after coming off the bench.

Morelos, who has just one year left on his contract, is yet to start a match in the Scottish Premiership so far this campaign and instead has been utilised as an impact substitute.

Although that backfired on Saturday in their 2-2 draw with Hibernian, as Morelos was sent off 13 minutes after coming off the bench at Easter Road.

He was shown a straight red card for catching Hibs defender Marijan Cabraja with a flailing arm.

Morelos was also previously dropped from the Rangers squad by Steven Gerrard for their Scottish Cup clash against Hearts in February 2020 after returning late from a trip to Colombia.

The tie is currently in the balance at 2-2 ahead of the return leg in Eindhoven with a Champions League group-stage place up for grabs.

New summer signing Antonio Colak will likely lead the line following an impressive start to his career at Ibrox, having started every game so far this season.

Rangers also strengthen in attack with the additions of Tom Lawrence, Malik Tillman, and Rabbi Matondo, who are also at van Bronckhorst’s disposal for the tie.
