Manchester United have reportedly identified Monaco full back Fode Ballo-Toure as a potential transfer target this summer.
The 23-year-old made 21 appearances for Monaco before the Ligue 1 season was curtailed by the coronavirus pandemic, and joined the principality club for a £10million fee in January 2019.
Ballo-Toure is thought to have caught the eye of Old Trafford scouts, who believe that the France U21 international may be able to provide competition for Luke Shaw and Brandon Williams.

According to The Times, clubs are on the lookout for cut-price deals in the upcoming transfer window due to the current financial uncertainty – but United may be tempted into a swoop for Ballo-Toure.
The defender started his career at Paris Saint-Germain, and would be expected to battle for a first-team spot immediately under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after any potential switch.
However, current United incumbent Shaw has impressed this season under the Norwegian tactician despite being dogged by a series of injuries since breaking his leg in 2015.
The former Southampton star has been fielded at left back and as a left-sided centre half, with Williams also featuring regularly in United’s backline.

But despite Shaw’s resurgence, journalist Duncan Castles has further highlighted United’s interest in Ballo-Toure.
He told the Transfer Window podcast: ‘The player that Man United are looking at is Fode Ballo-Toure.
‘He’s a 23-year-old left-back. He is an exceptionally quick, very powerful player, physically has lots of stamina and strikes me as having a very good profile for English football from a physical perspective.
‘Also, I’m told he’s an excellent character, so there’s belief that he would transfer well from the French game to the English game and not have as long an adaptation process as some players do when they switch countries.’

United’s players were pictured heading to their Carrington complex on Sunday to undergo Covid-19 tests ahead of a return to training this week.
Leading scorer Marcus Rashford stepped up his recovery from injury with a member of the club’s fitness staff before joining his team-mates – and squad members were present at the facility for just 15 minutes.
The club’s stars also arrived in intervals to ensure social distancing, with a testing station having been set up in the car park.
